There's a new immigration law that went into effect here in Oklahoma a few days ago. In summary, the law pretty much makes it a felony to have anything to do with illegals, with jail time or deportation being the end result. Today I already started seeing the affects of the law. I went to McDonald's today, which, by the way, has been 100 percent Mexican for the past few years or so. (And as much as I hate McDonald's, they're McRib is back and I loooooove those things. It's like crack on a sandwich.) I noticed lots of "Now Hiring" signs, and when I pulled up to the window I realized there was not a single Mexican there. Lots of Vietnamese, though. Surely none of this can be good for the local economy. Hmmmm...

It seems lately I've been so behind on movies. Usually I like to stay up to date, but lately I feel so lazy. My Netflix account is just collecting dust (and money) and even though I keep adding movies to my queue, I've had Strange Circus, Hot Fuzz, and The Science of Sleep at my house pretty much all summer. What a waste.

So lately I've been trying to catch up. A few days ago I downloaded I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK and Nightmare Detective. Haven't watched them yet, but I'll post my thoughts if I remember/am not lazy. I also got Paprika from PopMatters. I already watched it earlier this year. Satoshi Kon can do no wrong in my book. Perfect Blue is still my favorite of his.

I might do a music post soon. It seems a lot of things of mine have been collecting dust lately and I don't want this journal to be one of them. So for whatever reason, I'm gonna try to keep this thing alive. *sigh*
